We would like to install the shed in our Beach Parking lot at 0 Seaway Road (Parcel ID: 79-108). Specifically, the shed will be placed within an area that is already approved for alteration (ie. previously designated for kayak rack and bike storage). Please refer to the diagram, Site Plan SE 9-1634 zoom in for SHED.jpg. The shed will service members of our association and be used to store a beach wheelchair for use by our elderly and/or handicapped members. In addition, we will store other gear in the shed including a first aid kit, mobi mat, temporary beach storm fence, winter signs and speed bumps. Details: - We believe that the requested Pineland Park Association (PPA) shed will have NO adverse effect whatsoever to the coastal dune in terms of waves, vegetation, storm, flood, etc. We believe this to be true because our PPA Beach Parking lot is considerably high above the coastline. Please refer to the following PPA attachments as proof: o PPA – Contours.jpg Source is Brewster, MA Public MapsOnline, Contours Layer. The Contours is 20 for the location of the requested PPA shed. o PPA – Wetlands.jpg Source is Brewster, MA Public MapsOnline, Wetlands Layer. The location of the requested PPA shed is NOT in Wetlands. o PPA – FEMA FIRM Floodplain.jpg Source is FEMA FIRM Floodplain Cape Cod. The location of the requested PPA shed is NOT even close to the 100 year floodplain. o PPA – Terrain.jpg Source is Google Maps. This picture further illustrates the terrain and location of the requested PPA shed. - We now contrast the location of our requested PPA shed to the location of the relatively new & existing shed at Paine’s Creek. Please refer to the following Paine’s Creek attachments: o Paine’s Creek – Contours.jpg Source is Brewster, MA Public MapsOnline, Contours Layer. The Contours is 10 for the location of the shed at Paine’s Creek. Please note that the Contours of the PPA shed is at least 10’ higher than that the shed at Paine’s Creek. o Paine’s Creek – Wetlands.jpg Source is Brewster, MA Public MapsOnline, Wetlands Layer. The location of the shed at Paine’s Creek is almost surrounded by Wetlands.. o Paine’s Creek FEMA FIRM Floodplain.jpg Source is FEMA FIRM Floodplain Cape Cod. The shed at Paine’s Creek is completely encompassed/flooded in the 100 year floodplain. o Paine’s Creek - Terrain.jpg Source is Google Maps. Please note that the shed at Paine’s Creek is only about 15’ to the retaining rock wall on the left/west side. - Nor’Easters impact: We are all familiar with the severe damage that occurred at Paine’s Creek a number of years ago as the result of Nor’Easters and seawater flooding. Please note that the PPA Parking lot has never been flooded or eroded by seawater. - In summary, Pineland Park Association has consistently and continually improved our beach, our dune and our beach parking lot, as evidenced by the success of the Coastal Dune Project (SE 9- 1634, 0 Seaway Rd, 2014), the related yearly plantings and trimmings, raking of seaweed to the base of the dunes, paint/repair of our parking lot benches/fence and general upkeep. Thank you very much for your consideration to our request for a shed.
