MISSION
The mission of Parking Services is to provide a positive parking experience for visitors and our community, while enforcing and assisting with ordinances
and policies and collecting parking revenue.
GOALS
Maintain a functional and practical parking system.
Uphold a high standard of professionalism, increasing training and education of
officers.
Diligently enforce parking regulations while preserving the priority of customer service.
Establish better communication with the public on parking issues and policies.
Define
and carry out methods of preventative maintenance for parking equipment.
Continue revenue collections from meters in a timely manner.
OBJECTIVES
Evaluate and estimate an updated parking
system for the beachside lots prior to the next budget cycle.
Provide clear and user-friendly instructions for parking meter operation.
Maintain functionality of parking meters on a
daily basis.
Continue notifying registered vehicle owners of past due citations via delinquency letters.
BUDGET HIGHLIGHTS
Total requested is approximately $85,000 over 2012 budget
cycle for the following reasons:
53-1110 Parking Meters/Parts: Additional parts required to maintain functionality of aging Pay & Display Meters
53-1600 Small Equipment: $36,000 for
single space meters (credit card capable), housings and galvanized pipe
53-1600 Small Equipment: $17,000 for radios (12), per quote from Savannah Communications
54-2200 Vehicles: $21,000
for replacement supervisor vehicle and new 3-wheel vehicle
