HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-10-1957 5 e OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, RICHMOND,INDIANA FRIDAY, MAY 10., 1957 The Board of Public Works and Safety met in regular session in City Hall with Con troller Wilson presiding. City Attorney Cecere absent.The following business was had, to-1wit; Minutes dispensed with. The Clerk presented proofs of publication that this date had been set to receive bids on Improvement Resolution 1014-1957. (Curbs, gutters & sidewalks, both sides of Pary St. from 10th to 12th) No bids were received. The Board received a petition from residents of the vicinity of SW 5th & "G" and SW th & "F" Sts. , asking for storm sewer inlets & curb, gutter. & sidewalk on the por- tion of SW "G" between SW 5th and College Ave. This was referred to the City Eng_ gineer for study and consulation with the City Attorney. The Board unaminously approved the following water main installation and hydrant placing; water main from West Main St, north to Pearl St. in NW 6th St. , hydrant half way between Main and Pearl in NW 6th St. The Board approved a curb cutting at the southwest corner of East Main and Henley Road providing only one entrance is made on Healy Road. The City Engineer recommended a new petition for paving the alley from North "E" St. south to Starr School property, between N. 19th & 20th St. The Engineer said he would contact those property owners involved and get a new peititon. The Clerk was instructed to write the owner of the property that houses the Greyhound Bus Depot regarding the destruction of the sidewalk by busses. Said sidewalk on South 8th Street by the bus station. Police chief Conyers reported the trailer at 8th & Main was blocking the 15 minute parking space. The Clerk was instructed to have it moved.
