OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND SAFETY, RICHMOND,INDIANA
FRIDAY, MAY 3, 1957
The;-Board:.'oflPublic Works and Safety met in regular session in City Hall with
City Controller Wilson presiding. City Attorney Cecere absent. The following
business was had, to-wit;
Minutes dispensed with.
The Board received a petition for a sanitary sewer between S. 3rd St. and C & 0
railroad from South "C" to South "D". Referred to the City Engineer for study
and recommendation.
The Controller presented a letter from Modern Developments,Inc. asking for
street lighting in the first half of the Glen Hills Subdivision on the Elks
Country Club Road. The Clerk was instructed to contact the M.E.L.&P.D. for an
estimate of the cost and location of lights.
The Clerk read a letter from GI* Alexander of the Noon Optimist Club informing
the Board that rehabilitation of the trash receptacles had been started.
City Engineer Deuker reported that the estimated cost of the materials for wide-
ning the Peacock Road bridge over Clear Creek was $5000.00 and that the plans
specify the widening of the bridge to be done by using the same type arch con-
struction. City Controller Wilson moved that the Street Department be authorized
to proceed with said work. Seconded by City Engineer Deuker.
The Board was informed that the Eyeing Optimist Club intends to have a 121 x 201
building moved from SW 16th Street to Hill Stadium. The Club was instructed to
inform the Police Department when the move is to be made so they can provide a
Police escort.
There being no further business presented, the meeting adjourned.
