The Board of Public Works & Safety met in regular session in City Hall with
City Controller Wilson presiding. All members present. The following business
was had, to-wit:
Minutes of previous meeting dispensed with.
The Clerk presented proofs of publication showing that this date had been set
to receive bids for vitrified pipe, concrete pipe, and 'street materials for
the Street Department for the period of April 1, 1957 to April 1, 1958. The
111 proofs were ordered filed.

Connecting Bands:-

Perforated Pipe: •Add 2¢ per inch of nominal diameter for plain galvanized.
Add 1¢ per inch or nominal diameter for coated and/or paved.
Double Bituminous Coated:Add to plain pipe price 2¢ per inch of nominal diameter.
Paved and half coated: Add 3¢ per inch of nominal diameter.
Paved & Coated: Add 4¢ per inch of nominal diameter
Pipe-Arch: Add 7% to pipe, complete with all extras.
Strutting Extra: Add 15% to price of plain pipe for wire strutting. Add 25% for
strutting with rods and angles.

City Attorney Cecere moved that all bids be taken under advisement. Seconded
by City Engineer Deuker.
City Attorney Cecere moved that two parking spaces at the northwest corner of
�9th and North "A" be restricted by a yellow curb for use by the YWCA and the
present restricted parking spaces at the YWCA entrance on North "A" be
abolished and parking meters installed. Seconded by City Engineer Deuker.
City Attorney Cecere moved to allow Detective Capt. Thomas and Sgt. Troy Woolf
to attend a narcotics school at Indiana University on April 15th & 16th.
Seconded by City Engineer Deuker.
Ass't. Police Chief Conyers reported that three inhalators had been purchased
and were being installed in the crusier-ambulances. He said instructions would
be given o all concerned when the installation was conpleted.
City Engineer Deuker moved that a crossing guard be stationed at SW 3rd and
National Road West. Seconded by City Attorney Cecere.

) Acting on a suggestion madd by Mrs. C. W. Bostick, City Attorney eecere moved
that two hour parking signs be placed on South 11th St. from Main to South
"A", except on the west side of 11th from Main south to the alley. Seconded
by City Controller Wilson.
The Board took under advisement the installation of a new street light at
SU'T 5th and National Road. Estimated cost e $736.00.
The Board approved a curb cut at 251 SEW "C" Street.
There being nb further business the meeting adjourned.
