The following business was had, to-wit: Minutes dispensed with. • Upon the request of Naval Recruiting Officer, Ed Veceria and Eugene Stegall,,- the Board gave unaminous consent for the parking of the Mobile Naval Air Reserve Van between 8th and 9th Street on Main, on January 28th,29th, & 30th, 1957. • Bruce Reynolds and a Committee from the Student Council of Richmond Senior High School appeared and complained of the bad condition of the parking lot across Whitewater Blvd. from Civic Hall and asked if the City could do something to improve the lot. They were advised by the Board that the City did not have the funds available to pave this lot and that representatives of the City would meet with school officials to see if some joint plan can be worked out whereby said parking lot can be improved. William Townsend of the Jayne Neon' Sign Company demonstrated a lighted sign to the Board. City Lngineer Deuker moved that the City purchase a sign from the Wayne Neon Sign Co. for . - $100.00. Said sign to indicate the North 10th Street Municipal marking lot. lhe. cost of sign to include the setting of pipe and hanging of sign. Seconded by City Controller Wilson.- • Mr. Homer Scott of the B & B Construction Company of Anderson,Indiana, was advised by the Board that the Board had no jurisdiction over the matter of the single-family dwelling g . regulation in effect at 507 N. 16th Street where the construction company was remodeling a house belonging to Mr. Henry O.Braden. He was advised that the Board would take no action in this case other than to concur with the present regulations. Mr. Fred Lewis appeared and complained of the blocking of the alley running north from • North "A" , between 6th & 7th, by a truck of the Powell Tire Service Company. He was advised the the Board would. try to correct this situation. Fire Chief Williams reported he had refused a request of the Moto-Mower Company to locate two tanks of L.P.G. gas on the sidewalk for use during the gas shortage. He also reported that No./1 Pumper had been in a wreck and damaged in the amount of $400,00 He advised the Board that the other vehicle involved in the accident carried insurance and he was told to present all the facts of the accident to the City Attorney. he Clerk presented specifications for a tractor for the Street Department.These specs were approved and the Clerk instructed to prepare an advertisement for bids. the Mayor reported he had petitions against the discontinaunce of bus service on Sundays and Holidays and that he was turning them over to the City Attorney so he could petition the Public Service Commission for a hearing. Police Chief Mitrione said that due to the bad weather, he had not completed the check of train speeds in Richmond, but he would have a complete report ready et the next Board meet- ing. He also reported he wished totrade 4 police cars for one station wagon and 3 police cars and presented specifications for the new cars. The Board gave approval and ordered the Clerk to prepare a resolution for Council for the appointment of apuraisers. The Board directed the Clerk to prepare a memo to all concerned advising them that the Board must approve all request and specifications for new.cars for use by the llepartments under jurisdiction of the Board. . 1111 L President Attest: //I ,j,�Jrit� City Caak
