FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 50, 1956 The Board of Public Works & Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall of said City, Friday, November 30, 1956, at the hour of 9:00 AM, (DST). Mr. Wilson presiding with Mr. Deuker and Mr. Cecere being present. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made and seconded, the minutes of the previous meeting were dis- pensed with. The Clerk presented proofs of publication that November 30th was the date set for a hearing on Improvement Resolution 1012-1956. (Sanitary sewer between North 15th and 16th, from "G" Street north to Whitewater River) After hearing those for and against, City Attorney Cecere moved to take under advisement. Seconded by City Engineer Deuker. The Clerk presented proofs of publication.that November 30th was the date set for a hearing on Assesment Roll 1004-1956. City Attorney Cecere moved this Assesment Roll be approved. Seconded by City Engineer Deuker. The Clerk read a letter from Frances Mayhew, Secretary of the Wayne County Tuberculosis Association, requesting parking space for the mobile x-ray unit on South 8th Street by the entrance to Knollenbergs store for six days beginning December 14, 1956. City Attorney Cecere moved to approve above request. Seconded by City Engineer Deuker. The Board approved a request of the-WW II Mothers to sell poppies on Main Street on'December 7 and 8, 1956. City Engineer Deuker reported to the Board that after a thorough investigation regarding the bill board at North 12th and the Whitewater River, he found that the sign supports were in an area that had been dedicated to the use of property owners. The Clerk wasinstructed to write to Mr. Robert O'4aley and Carrol Porter, 111 . advising them of these findings. Park Superintendent McBride complained to the Board about the traffic condition at North "D" Street and Ft. Wayne Avenue and asked if a left turn signal could be installed to improve the flow of traffic from "I'i" Street onto Ft. Wayne Avenue to the north. The City Engineer said the whole area was under study to improve traffic conditions. The Board instructed the City Engineer to see if anything could be done to improve the flow of traffic until such time as permanent improvements are made. City Controller Wilson reported he had received a complaint from Ralph Miller, representating Norman Jenkins, about the installations of three additional park- ing meters on South 7th Street by the old Vortex Service Station. The Board maintained their previous position and ordered the meter installation to proceed. There being no further business presented, the meeting adjourned.
