OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND SAFETY, RICH1OND, INDIANA.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5, 1956
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular
session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, October 5, 1956, at the
hour of 8:00 o'clock A.M. (CST). Mr. Wilson presiding with the following members be-
ing present: Mr. Deuker and Mr. Cecere. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were
dispensed with.
IIIThe following petitions were presented to the Board: For interceptor sewer on North "G"
between North 15th and 16th; Concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk at the following
locations: both sides of North "H" fram 14th' to 16th, North 15th from "H" to "J", and
South 6th from ."O" to "Us'. City Attorney Cecere moved these be referred to the City
Engineer for study and recommendations seconded by City Controller Wilson.
A petition for concrete alley was presented to the Board: 1st alley west of S.W. 4th
from 1st alley south of National Road to S.W. . "C" Street. This was referred to the
City Engineer on motion of City Attorney Cecere and seconded by City Controller Wilson.
The Board _approved a curb cut at 235 South 8th Street (on S."C" St.). City Engineer
Deuker moved that this be approved seconded by City Attorney Cecere.

City Engineer Deuker reported the traffic light at North 10th and "J" Street was in
operation, but that the hoods were missing from the light. City Engineer Deuker in-
structed to try to get hoods in at once.
City Controller Wilson moved that one or more traffic lights be purchased for stock at
the Light Plant seconded by City Attorney Cecere.
City Engineer Deuker reported the street lights were being relocated on South 3rd and that
the Street Department would begin their phase of work when they were relocated.
The Clerk read a letter from Arlie Harbin requesting water, protection for Linda Kay sub-
"' City Attorney Cecere moved this be ordered seconded by City Controller Wilson.
The letter was referred to City Engineer Deuker and Fire Chief Williams for location
of fire hydrants. •

The Clerk was instructed to notify the Eagles Lodge that the City, did not wish to sell
the Garfield property.
City Controller Wilson read a letter from the Exchange Club requesting permission to
place a banner across Main Street announcing the dates the Marine Corps. band will be
in- Richmond. The Clerk tas instructed to write a letter refusing permission.
Permission was refused for Rose City Kiwanis Club to place a banner across Main Street.
The Clerk to inform by letter. - .
City Controller Wilson read the quarterly report of the Building Inspector.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
