FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 1956 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, September 28, 1956, at the hour of 8:00 &clock A.M. (CST). Mr. Wilson presiding with. the following members be- ing present: Mr. Deuker. Mr. Cecere being absent. The. following business was had, to- wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. City Engineer Deuker reported that all the materials are in for the traffic light at North 10th and "J" and that installation would begin October 1st; that the trees had been removed on South 3rd Street in preparation for widening the street: that the blalnce of the Market House parking lot was in the process of being paved, and that the billboard at North 12th and "J" was not in the alley, but that the braces that hold the sign erect were. The following recommendations of Chief Mitrione were approved by the Board: to Placing of STOP signs on S.W. 1st Street at the intersection of S.W. "E" 2. Yellow curb on east side of S.W. 4•th Street at E.U.B. Church. 3. Yellow curb on N.W. corner of South 8th and "M" Street at bus stop area. 4. Reflector boards to be placed on bridge on Bridge Avenue at intersection of Whitewater Blvd. to reflect lights of cars crossing bridge. (Cars on the Blvd. cannot always tell if cars are on bridge because bridge hides lights). 5. Placing of STOP signs at South 10th and "G" to make 10th thru street. Chief Mitrione reported that bicycle racks had been placed on North "A" Street by the Y.M.C.A. for use of the children who ride their bikes uptown to the movies. City Controller Wilson reported that Charlie Darr would remove the parking meter posts from the City parking lot on. Tuesday, October 2nd and parking that day should be done on the south side of the lot. There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned. .
