FRIDAY, AUGUST 24, 1956 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Firday, August 24, 1956, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock A.M. (CST). Mr. Cecere presiding with the' following member being present: Mr. Deuker. Mr. Wilson being absent. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. IIIThe Junior Womens Club of Richmond was given unanimous approval to use the Jaycee booth in front of the old Second National Bank for the sale of tickets for an Antique Show to be held October 5, 6 and 7. The booth will be used for sale of tickets on September 21, 22, 28 and 29. Mr. Ed. Kettler, 1127 NW 5th Street, appeared before the Board and asked about the status of the proposed sewer extension on N.W. 5th Street. He was advised that there would be a hearing on the sewer in two or three weeks and that residents kould be notified by card of the hearing date. , Carol Porter, Porter Poster Service, appeared and asked if the Board had reached a decision regarding renting him space at the west end of the 20th Century Bridge for erection of a billboard. He was advised that the Board had not reached a formal decision', but the Board would do so within a week and advise him of its decision. City Engineer Deuker moved to allow curb cuts at 901 North "E" Street and on Elm Place for the Adam H. Bartel Company parking lot. City Attorney Cecere seconded this motion. The Clerk presented the following complaint from Council: That there are leaks in the water main inSouth 5th Street where the Street Department is repairing the street. The City Engineer reported that the Street Commissioner was aware of this and was work- ing with the Richmond Water Works to eliminate this condition. City Engineer Deuker reported that the utilities and the Street Department had been advised of the action of the Board regarding the work to be done on South 3rd Street in III order to allow angle parking on the west side of the Court House. City Engineer Deuker reported that work would begin on the south 12th Street Parking Lot (Garfield School Lot) in the very near future. City Engineer Deuker said he had contacted the State Highway Department again about the materials for the stop light at North 10th and "J" Street and had been told the materials would be shipped this week. The Clerk was told to contact the Jaycees and ask that they remove the booth in front of the old Second National Bank Building. There being no further -business presented on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
