The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, August 3, 1956, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock A.M. (CST). Mr. Wilson presiding with the following member being present: Mr. Deuker. Mr. Cecere being absent. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. The Board unanimously approved the following request: III July 31, 1956 Mayor Roland Cutter City Building Richmond, Indiana Dear Mayor Cutter: Because operation of Civil Defense depends on good amateur short wave transmission under the government sponsored RACES plan, we would like per- mission to install another radio mast antenna atop the city building-assuring ourselves of the use of two channels in Wayne County. This interferes in no way with police or fire department transmission or reception-®in. fact it will probably be installed with their help. Civil Defense has sufficient funds, by use of the Federal matching set-up, to pay for this material and the radio amateurs do the work. Thanks for your fine cooperation in the past. Sincerely, is/ John Edwards, Director City Engineer Deuker presented a petition and Improvement Resolution No. 1007- 1A56. City Controller Wilson moved and City Engineer Deuker seconded that this Improvement Resolution No. 1007-1956 be adopted. (Improve the first alley west of Southwest 3rd Street, from Southwest "D" to Southwest "E" Street, by the construction of a concrete roadway the full width of said alley). City Engineer Deuker presented Assessment Roll No. 997-1955 (Assessment Roll for curb and gutter on both sides of Ross Street, from Northwest "H" Street, to Vine Street). City Engineer Deuker moved that this Assessment Roll be adopted seconded by City Controller Wilson. The Board allowed a curb cut at 910 College Avenue.
