OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC -WORKS
AND. SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA.
FRIDAY, JUNE: 29, 1956.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular
session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, June 29, 1956, at the hour
of 8:00 o'clock A. I. (CST). Mr. .Wilson presiding with the following: members being pre-
sent: Mr. Deuker and Mr. Cecere. The -following business• was had•, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were
dispensed with.
Park Superintendent Don McBride asked approval of the Board for the installation of two
(2) street lights directly east of Southwest "A" Street between• Clear. creek and South-
west 13th south of Main. City Attorney Cecer moved and City Controller Wilson seconded

that this installation be ordered.
Chief Williams recommended that Arthur Snyder be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
City Attorney Cecere moved and City Controller Wilson seconded- that this be approved. -
Police Chief Mitrione reported the Richmond Traffic Safety Council requests permission to
stencil safety slogans on the sidewalk ,at the main intersections. City Attorney Cecere •
moved that this be allowed seconded by City Controller Wilson. -

City Attorney Cecere requested that the Board consider installation of two (2) 15 minute
meters on the west side of South 8th Street by Hooks Drug Store.
City Attorney Cecere moved that the yellow curb on South 4th in front of the• old Auto
License Bureau be painted white and that the yellow curb on the east side of North, 19th
Street at "E" be painted white, seconded by City Controller Wilson.
Chief Mitrione reported to the Board that Capt. Juerling is going to check all bus
stops on Main Street to see if these bus loading zones are adequate.
City Engineer Deuker moved that the Porter Sign Company be instructed to remove the
bill boards at North 10th and Whitewater Blvd. as they are located on City Property,
seconded by City Attorney Cecere.
City Engineer Deuker moved that Improvement Resolution No. 1006-1956 be adopted, se-
conded by City Controller Wilson (to, improve the alley between South l4th and South 15th
Streets, from South "C" to South "D" Street, by the construction of a concrete roadway •
the full width).

City Engineer Deuker moved that the Board approve the Plat of the Gongwer Addition, se-
conded by City controller Wilson.
The Board approved the installation of private water lines on the following locations:
extending 250 feet south from Pearl Street on N.W. 6th Street, and extending 75 feet west
from South 5th Street on the south side of South "N" Street.
The Clerk read the follwoing letter:

Dear Mr. Keyser:

Referring to your letter of June 25th, concerning dust on our parking lot, we wish to
advise that we are doing everything possible to eliminate it until we can have 'it surfaced.
But, we hope this complainant is not confusing this with the dust which comes in from
Texas with every rain or wind storm and blaming our parking lot for it.

Claims in the amount of $50,4.84.4.2 were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded and carried,
the meeting adjourned.
