Council Committee representatives: Bill Garbett and Paul Wolff
Staff Committee representatives: Diane Schleicher,
Chantel Morton, Pete Ryerson and City Marshal Bruce Saunders
CALL TO ORDER
Mr. Bill Garbett called the meeting to order.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Wolff made a motion to approve the
minutes. Mr. Garbett seconded the motion. The minutes were approved.
Old Business:
Update on status of low speed vehicles/ golf cart parking spaces near the beach
Mr. Ryerson stated
that staff has looked at the spaces on the list. He said that twelve spaces, total, have been identified.
Officer Saunders explained low speed vehicles vs golf carts. He said that anything
with a tag can operate on Hwy 80.
Mr. Garbett asked if we could get signage by August.
Mr. Ryerson said that obtaining signage would not be a problem.
Discuss reduced rate for parking
decals on golf carts owned and registered by Tybee Residents
The committee discussed the reduced rate for residents, asking if reduced for residents only, would it be considered a gratuity
for residents only.
Mr. Garbett and Mr. Wolff advised that they were against the reduced rate for golf cart decals.
Mr. Wolff made a motion to leave decals full price for golf cart
owners.
Mr. Garbett seconded the motion. It was approved unanimously.
New Business
Discuss increasing 2 day parking passes from $20 to $30
Mr. Garbett asked for opinions on increasing rates for 2-day parking passes.
Ms. Schleicher explained the potential
revenue increases.
The committee discussed the rate increase. Mr. Garbett and Mr. Wolff were not in favor of any increases in the 2-day parking passes at this time.
Staff Update
Mr.
Ryerson gave a report on the revenues for July 4 weekend.
He stated that the new trial meters are better. They are at Lot 16-02 and NBL-08.
An RFP will have to go out for new Pay and
Display meters.
The committee discussed the new meters, the trial and advantages.
The committee also discussed the possibility of signs at the Pay and Display meters with the beach
rules posted.
Mr. Wolff made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Garbett seconded. The meeting was adjourned.
