SPECIAL SESSION, RICHMOND, INDIANA.
MONDAY, MARCH 5, 1956
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in Special
Session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Monday, March 5, 1956, at the
hour of 8:00 o'clock A.M. (CST). Mr. Wilson presiding with the following members be-
ing present: Mr. Deuker and Mr. Cecere. The following business was had, to-wit:
The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond. Palladium-Item,
on the dates of February 14 and February 21, 1956, that a public hearing would be held
on Declaratory Resolution No. 5-1956. The proofs were ordered filed.
There being no remonstrance received or filed the Board unanimously confirmed
Declaratory Resolution No. 5-1956.
The Board ordered City Attorney Cecere to prepare an Ordinance for the appropriation
of $11,000.00 out of the Off-Street Parking Fund for the development and itprovement
of a Municipal Parking Lot.
The Clerk presented a petition to the Board for a traffic light to be installed at
the intersection of South 7th and "E" Street. The petition contained 90 signatures.
This petition to be turned over to Capt. Juerling for his study and recommendations.
City Engineer Deuker reported of his investigation of the Drive-in Teller Window
at the rear of the new Second National Bank Building on Sailor Street. City Engineer
Deuker moved that this construction be allowed seconded by City Controller Wilson and
unanimously approved.
• City Controller Wilson presented a revised bid of the Dea Meadows Ford Sales on the
three (3) station wagons for the Police Department. By omitting the automatic trans-
missions on two of the station wagons and the alternating generator on one of the
station wagons the bid was lowered $518.00. The total bid before the adjustment was
$6318.00 less reduction of $518.00 making the net bid $5800.00. The Board unanimously
awarded the bid for three (3) station wagons for the Police Department to Dea Meadows
Ford Sales. The Clerk was ordered to return the check that accompanied the bid of the
Brower-Morrison for station wagons for the Police Department.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded and carried,
the meeting adjourned.
