OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND SAFETY IN SPECIAL MEETING
RICHMOND, INDIANA
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 1955
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in Special Meeting in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Monday, November 21, 1955, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. ( CST) . Mr
Coleman presiding with the following member bein present: Mr. Deuker.
The following business was had, to-wit:
A Resolution was presented on the death of City Attorney, FrankI/
Chambers.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lord in His infinite wisdom has seen fit
to call unto Him and into His Council our friend and former
colleague, Frank Chambers; and
WHEREAS, Frank Chambers, as a citizen and public officer
both as a Councilman and City Attorney, was always willing
to serve in any capacity in a generous fashion; and
WHEREAS, he was over a long period of time a wise,
efficient, honest and willing servant, giving freely of his
time and sage advise; and
WHEREAS, his presence will be missed by his family,
his friends and all those with whom he was associated.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public
Works and Safety of the City of Richmond sitting in a
Special Session, this 21st day of November, 1955, that the
sympathy and testimony of this body be extended to the
family of our friend Frank Chambers; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution
be placed of record in the records of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, and that a copy be forwarded to his widow.
The Board ordered the above Resolution to be spread of record and a
copy sent to the family of the deceased and also a copy be presented
to Common Council by the City Clerk.
The Mayor announced to the Board that he has appointed Clifford M.
Haworth to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Chambers as City Attorney
as of this date.
The official bonds of Frank Chambers to be transferred to cover City
Attorney Clifford M. Haworth.
Whereas the Board adjourned until Friday, November 25, 1955, at
8: 00 o' clock A.M. ( CST) .
