AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 12, - 1955.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, August 12, .1955, at the hour of 8: 00 o ' clock A.N. (CST) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following members present: Mr. Chambers. The
following business was had., to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
Mr. Paul Smith, Mr. Shores and Mr. Hagey, merchants on Main Street
appeared before the Board to complain of the recommendation of taking
parking off the south side of Main Street from South 15th to South 16th I/
Street. These men were advised_ that the City wouldn' t take any action
until the State Highway Commission had made a survey of the traffic
conditions in this area.
On recommendation of Capt. Juerling the Board approved the installation
of stop signs at the intersection of S.W. "E" and College Avenue. College
Avenue to be the through. street.
The Board gave permission to the Street Department to paint the curbs
yellow 20 feet back from the intersection of Southwest 4th and Southwest
"G" Streets,
The Board on recommendation of the Acting City Engineer awarded •the con-
tract for furnishing labor and material as required for in Improvement
Resolution No. 997-1955 to Frank J. Robinson, Centerville, Indiana..
Claims in the amount of " 55, ;16. 14 were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded
and carried, the meeting adjourned. •
