AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA.
FRIDAY, JUNE 24, 1955.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, June 24, 1955, at the hour of 8: 00 o ' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin
and Mr. Chambers. The following business was had, to-wit: .
On motion duly made, seconded and. carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
IICouncilman Marino appeared_ before the Board and wanted to know what
had been done about the stop light at North 10th and "J" Street. Mr.
Marino was informed that the Clerk had written a letter to the State
Highway Department on December 17, 1954 and to date no answer has
been received.
The Mayor stated that he had been advised that the material for the
stop light at Southwest 1st and National Road would be delivered
next week.
Mr. Ridgeway, Park Superintendent, stated that the new roller rink
would be opened Sunday, June 26, 1955.
Fire Chief William-s recommended that no bulk plant be allowed in the
City Limits for L.P. Gas and that an Ordinance be prepared for
Council' s action.
A street light was ordered installed at the intersection of joss Street
and Northwest "H" Street as recommended by the Light Plant Committee.
The City Attorney presented proofs of publication printed in the
Richmond. Palladium_Item that a public hearing would be held on this
date for Declaratory Resolution No. 2-1955 to vacate a public utility
right-of-way in the vicinity of Northwest 5th and Northwest "E" Street.
The proofs were ordered received and filed.
After hearing all taxpayers present who desired to express themselves
on Declaratory Resolution No. 2-1955 and no remonstrances received or
filed said Declaratory Resolution No. 2-1955 was unanimously confirmed
as adopted May 27, 1955.
Ralph Snavely, Weights & Measurers Inspector, presented the following
report : of inspections:
Number of trucks 52
Number of Meters 57.
Number of Meters Condemned 10
8 were over 2 under
Number of Meters adjusted 10
Number of Meters Sealed 57
All O. K. at end of Inspection.
Claims in the amount of 1fi42, 486, 59 were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, se-
conded and carried, the meeting adj ounred.
