FRIDAY, APRIL 15, 1955
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana.,
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, April 15, . 1955, at the hour of 8: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr.
Hodgin and Mr. Chambers. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
The Board approved the request of the Junior Chamber of Commerce
for the use of the extension of West Main Street Saturday, April 23,
1955 to stage a Teenage Auto Rodeo sponsored by the Junior Chamber.
of Commerce.
The Board approved the request of the League of Women Voters to paint
on the curbs at the intersections of 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th Streets
on Main "Vote May 3rd" .
The City Engineer asked that no action be taken on Improvement Res-
olution No. 995-1955 for the construction of concrete alley between
North 19th and. 20th from North "D" to "E" Streets for reason that
the School City has intensions of construction a new elementary
school near this area and the plans might call for this alley being .
a dead end at the south end of said alley.
Claims in the amount of $13, 295. 34 were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, se-
conded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
