AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA.
FRIDAY, MARCH 4, 1955.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular .session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, March._ 4.; 1955, at the hour of 8:00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin
and Mr. Chambers. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
The Board authorized the 'removal of old traffic signal lights at South
8th and "E" Streets and ordered the installation of four (4) new type
posts complete with controller suitable for underground installation.
The Engineers of the Light Plant have requested this change due to the
high maintenance on the old signal lights.
A petition was received for a street light between South llth and South
12th Street on South "Q" Street. This was referred to the Light Plant.
Committee for their study and recommendation.
A petition was received for a traffic signal light at the intersection
of 2nd and East Main Streets. This was referred to the Traffic Division
for their study and recommendation.
Assistant Fire Chief Charles Bostick recommended that a 6" Water main
be extended from South 12th and "I" Street to South 12th and "J" Street
and the installation of a fire hydrant at South 12th and "J" Street to
serve as fire protection to the Richards Addition in the City of Rich-
mond, Indiana.
Mr. Carolton Commons requested that water mains be installed in the
Second Addition of the Parkway Hills. This was referred to the Fire
Chief for his study and recommendations.
Claims:.in the amount of 422,480,80 were allowed.
There being no ' further business presented on motion duly made, seconded
and carried, the meeting adjourned.
