HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-05-1955 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS C AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA. ,FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 1955• The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, February 5, 1955, at the hour of 8: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin and Mr. Chambers. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made , seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. On recommendation of the Fire Chief the Board unanimously approved the appointment of Dale Knarzer as Probationary Fireman as of February 5, 1955. The Board granted permission to the Street Commissioner to receive quotations on a street flusher to be used to flush the streets by the City. On recommendation of Captain Juerling the Board. approved "No Parking" on soutla side of North "F" Street from North 12th west to the Pen- nsylvania Railroad siding and also "No Parking" on the north side of North "D" from North 8th to North 9th Street. The Board approved the removal of the parking meters on the west side of North 8th from Main Street to the first alley north during the building pro- gram of the Second National Bank. The Board authorized the City Attorney to prepare contracts to be used by the City and the companies that are contracted for towing in automobiles as provided for in the Ordinance No. 1534-1954. On recommendation of the City Engineer the Board declined the petition to cut the curb at 901 North 10th Street. The request was for 45 feet and the Engineer recommended this be limited to 30 feet. The Engineer will advise Mr. Robert M. Powell of this action. Claims in the amount of 5,6, 801. 93 were allowed.
