FRIDAY, JANUARY 21, 1955
The Board. of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, January 21, 1955, at the hour of 8:00 o' clock A.M. ( CST) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following member being present: Mr. Chambers.
Mr. Hodgin being absent. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
IIThe Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond Pal-
ladium-Item, a newspaper on the dates of December 27, 1954 and January
3, 1955, that a public hearing Would be held on Assessment Rolls Nos.
981-1954 and 987-1954. The proofs were ordered filed.
After hearing all persons present who desired to express themselves
on Assessment Rolls Nos. 981-1954 and 987-1954 and no remonstrances
were filed the Board now unanimously confirms Assessment Rolls Nos.
981-1954 and 9.87-1954, as adopted.
The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond Pal-
ladium-Item, a newspaper on the dates of December 30, 1954 and January
6, 1955 that sealed bids would be received for three (3) new trucks
for the Street Department as per specifications. The proofs were
ordered filed.
The following bids were received, opened and read aloud:

On the chassis would be mounted a Daybrook
model #54 dump body, 2 1/2 yard capacity with

hoist model #75W with 7" cylinder, double arm,
cam and roller action, 60° dumping angle. Bed
would be mounted not more than 60" from ground
to top of side rail, making it very easy to load
or unload by hand. .
Entire units would be painted Coca Cola yellow
and .delivery can be made .within 2 to 3 weeks 161.85

The Clerk presented the Declaratory Resolution No. 1-1955 which the
appraisers appraised the following trucks and their amounts,
1945 International Truck No. 104 Engine No. 23388238 $150.00
1946 International Truck No. 105 Engine No. 17143702Q200.00
1947 Hudson Coupe No. 113 Engine No. 144075 100.00
All of the above bids were taken under advisement to the City Engineer
and Street Commissioner for their tabulation and recommendations.
The Board requested that the Clerk prepare a Declaratory Resolution
for the appointment of appraisers to appraise the car used by the
Building Inspector and also for, the publication to receive bids for
a new car for the Building Inspector.
The Board renewed the maintance contract for the Ad-O-Lite Service
for the "WAlk" and "Don' t Walk" signs on Main Street,
The Fire Chief asked that the extension of the water line to be ex-
tended to the recent annexation on the Boston Pike be continued as
he wated to confer with the City Engineer on the location of fire
hydrants.
Claims in the amount of P,40, 913.64 were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, se-
conded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
