FRIDAY, DECEMBER 31, 1954.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Ind.iana, ,
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, . Tecember. 31, 1954, at• the hour of 8: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin
and Mr. Chambers. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
IIMr. Russell Robbins and Mr. George Scantland were present to express
the need of the City to install a covered Storm Sewer near the area
of South 19th and "G" Streets. There is an open sewer which needs to
be covered so that the Richards Addition can be approached to for
future developement of new homes. This was referred to the City
Engineer for study end recommendations.
The Board unanimously adopted Assessment Roll No. 975-1953 ( Sidewalk
and curb and gutter on south side of South "J" Street from South 13th
to South 16th Streets; curb and gutter on north side of South "J"
Street, from 13th to 16th Streets) .
-The Board unanimously adopted Assessment Roll No. 989-1954 ( Sanitary
Sewer• on West Main Street, from alley west of West 18th to west corp.
line) .
The Board ordered Street lights in on Newman' s Hill as recommended
by the Light Plant Committee.
The Board elected Harold G. Coleman to serve as President of the Board
of Public Works and Safety for the year 1955.
Claims in the amount of 18, 463. 11 were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded
and carried, the meeting adjourned.
