FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 1954 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, November 10, 1954, at the hour of 8: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin and Mr. Chambers. The following business was had, to-wit: . On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. . II A petition was presented to the Board signed by resident on Newman' s Hill Addition requesting installation of a fire hydrant and street illumination. Mr. Stircle Patterson and Mr. Robert C. Law were in attendance to discuss this matter. After much discussion it was recommended by the mire Chief that a six. inch water main be extended onto Newman' s Hill from the Bridge Avenue water main to a point midway on Sherwood Avenue between Colfax Avenue and the north end of Sherwood Avenue and an installation of a fire hydrant at this point of ending of the water main to serve as fire protection. The Water. Works to be advised of this action. Mr. Shoemaker presented plans and specifications relative to the Richmond Water Works Corp. installing an underground concrete vault to house booster pumps to be located on the Northwest corner of 30th and East. Main Streets. The Board granted permission for the Richmond Water Works Corp. to install a concrete vaultas specified. This in- stallation should boost the water pressure in the area of 30th and East Main Streets. The owner of the Napoli through Mr. Robert Law requested that consideration be given by this Board of removing the yellow paint on the curb on the north side of Ft . Wayne Avenue in front of said Napoli and that the parking meters be replaced. The Board referred this to Captain Juerling for his study and recommendations.
