A FULLY FUNDED ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR VARIOUS
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE BOROUGH OF
CARTERET, COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX, NEW JERSEY,
APPROPRIATING $4,500,000 FROM THE PROCEEDS OF
THE PROPERTY SALE A LT.IIIfRI7ED HEREIN FOR
IMPROVEMENTS, UPGRADES AND ENHANCEMENTS OF THE
CARTERET WATERFRONT PROJECT FOR THE COST THEREOF
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH
OF CARTERET IN THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX, NEW JERSEY,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Borough of Carteret, in the County of
Middlesex, New Jersey, ( "Borough ") hereby determines
that any designated part of the real property
identified as Block 304, Lot 2 (formerly Block 5.02,
Lots 1.01 & 2.01) on the Official Tax Map of the
Borough which may be possessed by the Borough is not
needed for municipal purposes, and the sale of the
same to the County of Middlesex is hereby approved
and directed in accordance with terms and conditions
acceptable to the Borough's Law Director, all as
authorized by law, and the appropriate Borough
Officials are hereby authorized and directed to take
all required action(s), including the execution of
any documents, necessary to implement said transfer.
SECTION 2. The Borough hereby authorizes the 2017
Various Capital Improvements and Acquisition together
with all purposes necessary, incidental or
appurtenant thereto:
SECTION 3. For said improvements or purposes, there
is hereby appropriated the sum of $4,500,000 which
amounts are made available from Property Sale
Proceeds, and
SECTION 4. The Capital Budget of the Borough is
hereby amended to conform with the provisions of this
Ordinance to the extent of any inconsistency
herewith.
SECTION S. The purposes described in Section 2
herein are not current expenses. These are all
Improvements that the Borough may lawfully undertake
as General Improvements, and no part of the costs
thereof has been or shall be specially assessed on
property specially benefited thereby.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall take effect as
provided by Law.

The foregoing ordinance was introduced at a meeting of the
Council of the Borough of Carteret held March 23, 2017 when it
was adopted on first reading.
The said ordinance will be further considered on second reading for
final adoption at a meeting of said Council of the Borough of Car-
teret on April 6, 2017 at approximately 6:00 P.M., Borough Hall /
Council Chambers, 61 Cooke Avenue, Carteret, New Jersey at which
time and place all persons interested will be given an opportunity
to be heard.
