AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA.
• FRIDAY, OCTOBER 8, 1954.
The Board, of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, ,
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, October 8, 1954, at' the hour of 9:00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr.
Coleman, aresiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin
and Mr. Chambers. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
Three students from Richmond Senior High School, Dave Bridgeford,
Keith Watt, and Terry Hitchcock, appeared before the Board and asked
that some attention be given by the City to make the parking lot in
front of the High School on Whitewater Blvd. a better place to park
cars by placing a surface of a nature that would be suitable for
painting yellow lanes to permit better parking facilities. This was
referred to the City Engineer and Street Commissioner for their study
and recommendations.
The Board authorized the Clerk to prepare a Resolution for Council' s
consideration for appointment of appraisers to appraise three (3)
used cars that are to be traded for three ( 3) new cars.
The Board approved the request of the Wayne County Tuberculosis
Association to park a Mobile Chest X-ray Unit at 9th and. Main Streets
for four (4) days beginning November 30, 1954.
The Board took the following action on Improvement Resolution, No. 991-
1954 which was taken under advisement October 1, 1954. The remon-
strances and petitions that were presented showed the following: 9
petitioners and 23 remonstrators. On motion made by Mr. Hodgin,
seconded by Mr. Chambers, the Board now recinds Improvement Resolution
No. 991-1954.
The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond
Palladium-Item, a newspaper on the dates of September 20, and 27, 1954,
that a public hearing would be held on Improvement Resolution No. 993-
1954. The proofs were ordered filed..
After hearing all persons present who desired to express themselves
on Improvement Resolution No, 993-1954 and no remonstrances being
received or filed the Board now unanimously confirms. Improvement
Resolution No. 993-1954.
Capt. Juerling requested that some study be made by the Board of
prohibiting the parking of cars on- the north side of National Road
West from West 4th Street to. West 5th Street. The board took this
under advisement.
The following curb cut was allowed:
159 Southwest 17th Street for driveway.
Claims in the amount of $5028.45 were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, se-
conded and carried, the meeting adjourned_.
