OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA.
FRIDAY,. SEPTEMBER 19, 1954.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City.
Friday, September 10, 1954-, : at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. (CDST5 .
Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr.
Chambers. Mr. : Hodgin being absent. The following business was had,
• to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the following additions
to the minutes of September 3, 1954 were approved. The adoption of
Preliminary Assessment Roll No. 973-195 .
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the:-minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond
Palladium-Item, a newspaper on the dates of August 23 and 30, 1954,
that a public hearing would, be held on this date on Improvement
Resolution No. 989-1954. The proofs were ordered filed.
After hearing all persons interested in Improvement Resolution No.
989-1954 and no remonstrance being filed or received the Board
unanimously confirms Improvement Resolution No. 989-1954.
Fire Chief Williams reported that he had made quite a thorough
inspection of the corn cob burning complaint that was' reported by
Councilman Marino. The Fire Chief says that he has yet to find any
obnoxious odors but would continue to make inspections.
The Mayor reported that he had a talk with Mr. Pohlkotte, Safety
Engineer of the State Highway Commission, about the installation
of a traffic signal at South 5th and "B" Streets. This installation
met with the approval of Mr. Pohlkotte. The Board ordered a Resol-
ution to be prepared for Council' s consideration for said installation.
The following curb cuts were allowed:
13 DeBolt Lane for driveway
4.03 Southwest 16th Street for driveway
Claims in the amount of P28, 155. 86 were allowed.
The-re being no further business- presented on motion duly made, se-
conded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
