The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, . Friday, July 30, 1954 , at the hour of 9:00 o' clock A.M. (CDST) , Mr. Coleman' presidirg' with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin -and Mr. Chambers. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. Mr. Wilfred Mast, Manager of the R.E.M. C. appeared before the board requesting two parking spaces in front of the R.E.M.C. office on South 10th Street for their patrons to park to pay their monthly bills. This was referred to Capt. Juerling for his study and. recommendation. On recommendation of Capt. Juerling the board approved the following; Install a 4-way stop at South 23rd. and "E" Street, with center lanes and stop painted at all four entrances and the 4-way stops signs at each of the four corners. Parking to be eliminated on State Route #227 and #121, from the bridge to the New Paris Pike. on the east side of the street. The Clerk presented proofs of publications printed in the Richmond, Palladium-Item, a newspaper on the dates of July 6-13, 1954, that a public hearing would be held on this date on Improvement Resolution No. 983-1954. The proofs 'were ordered filed. All persons present who were interested in Improvement Resolution No. 983-1954, were heard and no remonstrance was filed or received. The board now unanimously confirms Improvement Resolution No. 983- 1954 as adopted. The board approved a resolution that 'was prepared for the Common Council' s consideration for the installation of a traffic signal light at the intersedtion of the first alley south of South "B" Street . on South Fifth Street. The Board allowed the following curb cut: 26 South 7th Street for driveway entrance to parking lot. The Board allowed the claims in the amount of $7, 651. 70.
