OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND SAFETY, RI CHMOND, INDIANA.
FRIDAY, JULY 2, 1954.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session in its office in the City` Hall in said City,
Friday, July 2, 1954, at the hour of 9:00 o ' clock.A.M. (CDST) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following members present: Mr. Hodgin and
Mr. Chambers. The following business was had, to-wit: ,
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
,meeting were dispensed with.
Mr. Juerling, General Contractor in Richmond, was given permission by
this Board to close the alley between the YWCA and the North American
Insurance Company building during, the construction of the new YWCA.
There will also have to be four (4) parking meters removed during the
construction.
Permission was granted by the Board to the Tyre Temple Shrine to
stage a parade on Main Street July 5, 1954.
The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 983-1954
and instructed the Clerk to ,advertise for a public hearing.
The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the. Richmond
_Palladium-Item, ,a newspaper on the dates of June 14--21, 1954, that
a public hearing would be held on Improvement Resolution No. 981-1954-
The proofs were ordered filed.
There being no remonstrance filed or received and all persons inter-
ested in said Improvement Resolution were heard. The Board now
confirms Improvement Resolution No. 981-1954 as adopted.
On recommendation of the City Engineer the Board accepted the con-
tract of E. S. Bultman to construct #6 Fire Station in the sum of
156 427.00.
A petition was received requesting installation of a .street light
approximately in the middle of Starr Street between North "A" and
"B" Streets. This was referred to the Light Plant Committee.
The Board of Works approved the City Clerk of preparing an Ordinance
to transfer the sum of $700.00 from Account No. 83, Board of Public
Works and Safety, Electric Current, to Account No. 85, Board of
public Works and Safety, Advertising.
Claims in the amount of $3129. 71 were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded
and carried, the meeting adjourned.
