The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, June 4, 1954, at the hour of 9:00 o' clock A.M. ( CDST) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members present: Mr. Hodgin and Mr. Chambers . The followink business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. The officials from the Telephone Company were present and recommended that the telephone booth that was to be installed at West 5th and Main Streets be eliminated and that the Board consider a new location for said telephone booth at West 1st and Main Street in front of the Miller Dairy Store. This was taken under advisement by the Board. The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation on the dates of May 18-25, 1954, that sealed bids would be received on this date for furnishing labor and materials for installation of an Oil Burner in the City Hall as per plans and specifications. The proofs were ordered filed. The following bids were received, opened and read aloud: Niewoehner Nicklas ` 1,699.00 Mather Brothers 1, 955.00 Hirst Heating & Air Oond. 2,000.00 Oil Products 2, 284.00 H, & A 2, 685.00 These bids were taken under advisement and referred to the City Engin- eer for his study and recommendations. II Mr. Darrell Sheffer, Supt. of the Richmond. City Bus Lines presented the following schedules to the Board. The board granted permission for the bus lines to make the changes as follows: Because of the heavy decline of bus riders we are forced to change and reduce our City Bus Routes and schedules after 6:00 P.M. on Monday through Friday. Our present week day routes and schedules, will remain the same until 6:00 P.M. and Saturday Schedules will re- main the same until 9: 00 P.M. Sunday and Holidays will work all day on reduced sche- dules and routes starting at 6: 00 A.M. , until 11:00 P.M. The following change in Routes will be set up as follows: "East Main will cover Glen Miller route. East on Main Street to 20th Street, North on 20th Street to "E" Street, East on "E" Street to Glen Miller, back from Flen Miller to 22nd and Main, then East on Main to Elks Club, from Elks Club West to 22nd and Main, North to "E" Street, west on "E" Street to 20th Street, south on 20th Street to Main and resume regular route. " II "WEST MAIN AND NAT'L ROAD WILL COVER PART OF EAST HAVEN ROUTE. "Vest on Main Street to South West 3rd and Main, South to Nat' l Road, west to South West 18th Street, North to East Haven State Hospital, return from Hospital to Peacock Road, east on Peacock to 13th Street, South via Cartwright Drive, to 15th and Main Street, and resume regular route. " "WEST RICHOMD WILL COVER PART. OF EAST HAVEN ROUTE. From Eighth and Main West to North West 10th and 2S • • and Main Street, North on 10th Street, to Peacock Road, East on Peacock Road to North West 5th Street, .North on 5th Street to Richmond Avenue and resume regular route. " • Claims in the amount of $670.00 were allowed.
