The Board, of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indi-
and, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall 'in said
City, Friday, April 23, 1954, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) )
Mr. Coleman presiding the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin
and Mr. Chambers. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
The Board granted permission to the V.F.W. to stage a Loyalty Day
parade Sunday' May 2, 1954.
On recommendation of the Chief of Police the Board approved the Clerk
of preparing a resolution for appointment of Apparisers to appraise
two (2) Police Cars to be traded.
The Board considered a petition of the Hudson Oil Company and Carter' s
Restaurant, Inc. located on north side of U. S. #40, east of Richmond
requesting authority to extend a private sewer from the present sewer
in 34th Street and tap into the same. Hodgin moved, Chambers second-
ed and unanimously carried, the Board approved the request and the
work to be -according to the plans and specification on file in the
City Engineers office.
Pursuant to advertising printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a
newspaper in said City of the dates of April 5-12, 1954 that sealed
bids would be received on 'this date for a Main Statton Transmitter-
Receiver Combination for the Fire Department. The proofs were
ordered. filed on motion duly made, seconded and carried. •
The following bid being the only one received was opened and read
aloud: -
Richmond Radiotelephone, Inc.. $1,525. 00
Chambers moved, Hodgin seconded and by voice vote the Richmond Radio-
telephone Inc. . was awarded the bid-, .
Pursuant to advertising printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a
newspaper in said City on the dates of April 12-19, 1954, that sealed
bids would be received on this date for furnishing labor and material
as required for Improvement Resolution No. 979-1954. The proofs were
ordered filed on motion duly made, -seconded and carried.
The following bid being the only one received was opened and read
aloud:
DeBolt Concrete Co. $1,499.50
The City Engineers estimate 1,500.00
Hodgin moved, seconded by Chambers, and carried, the Board awarded the
contract to the DeBolt Concrete Company.
The Board instructed the Clerk to prepare the a. dvertising- to receive
bids for 40 or more parking meters for the North 10th Street Parking
Lot. Bids to be received May 14, 1954.
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the Board will meet at the
hour of 8: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) starting April 30, 1954.
Claims in the amount of .$40, 758. 15 were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded
and carried, the meeting adjourned.
