The Board. of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City., Friday, April 16, 1954, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. .(CST) . Mr, Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr, Hodgin and Mr. Chambers. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. On recommendation of the Fire Chief, the board approved the installa- tion of water mains and fire hydrants in the, following locations in the Parkway Hill Addition to said city: 1. Extend an eight (8) inch water main,. north along South East Parkway approximately 430 feet, to • South "A" Street and place a fire hydrant at the intersection of South East Parkway and South "A" Street. 2. Extend an eight (8) inch water main, north along South. 24th Street to South "A°-Street approximately 430 feet, and place a fire hydrant at the inter- section of South 24th Street and "A" Street. All of the above to serve as fire protection in this area. On. recommendation of the Fire Chief, the Board instructed the Clerk to Prepare the advertising to receive sealed proposals for One (1) , 750 G.P.M. Triple action Pumper for use of the Fire Department. The plans and specifications to be on file in the office of the Fire Chief. On recommendation of the City Engineer the Clerk was instructed to prepare a resolution for Council' s consideration, for the Judge of the Wayne Circuit Court to appoint three disinterested freeholders to appraise Sixty ( 60) feet of the east side of Lot No. 42 of the Abijah Moffitt Addition (lot located at North 15th and "J" Street, used by the M.E.L. & P.P. Substation and now abandoned) .. On recommendation of the City Engineer, the board approved the bid of the W.L. Magaw Co. , to furnish bituminous materials for street repairs; the bid of the Solvay Process Division for Calcium Chloride; and all the bid for sand and, gravel, as submitted by the DeBolt Con- crete Company. . The sewer pipe bid of the DeBolt Concrete Company being rejected and the same to be readvertiwed for. The Board allowed the claims in the amount of 29, 766. 85.
