AND SAFETY, RICHMOID, INDIANA.
FRIDAY, APRIL 9, 1954.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, April 9, 1954, at the hour of 9:00 o' clock A.M. ( CST) , Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin
and Mr. Chambers. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with. •
Pursuant to advertisement published in the Richmond Palladium-Item
the board met at the hour of .9: 00 o' clock P.M. (CST) , to open and
read aloud the bids received for Street Materials as follows:
DeBolt Concrete Co.
3100 Cu, yds. more or less, each of various sizes of aggregates.
Prices are per ton loaded in trucks at plant unless otherwise
specified.

All the above materials shall conform to the s pecifications
of Indiana State Highway Commission. All of the above
materials to be produced by W. L. Magaw Plant.

packed in 100# moisture proof bags 427. 00 per ton F.O.B.
Solvay N.Y. Freight equalized with Barberton, Ohio.
All bids were referred to the City Engineer for tabulations and re-
commendations.
The Mayor reported that word had been issued to the Street Department
to clean the streets and alleys in the business district. The Clerk
was instructed to advise the Retail Merchants Assn. of this action and
asked that they co-operate with the city in making the City Streets
and alleys clean for Easter Week

The City Engineer recommended that bids be received for the labor
and material to do the work as required in Improvement Resolution No.
979-1954. The Clerk to prepare the advertising to receive bids.
Claims in the amount of $16, 379. 69 were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, se-
conded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
