HomeMy Public PortalAbout009-2022 - QUIT-DLAIM DEED - Transfer of Swicker to Weslyn Chruch BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA RESOLUTION NO. 9-2022 A RESOLUTION TO TRANSFER REAL ESTATE LOCATED IN RICHMOND, INDIANA TO CROSSROADS DISTRICT OF THE WESLEYAN CHURCH,INC. WHEREAS, The Board of Public Works and Safety ("Board") is the disposing agent for real property owned and to be transferred or acquired by the City of Richmond, Indiana ("City") pursuant to the provisions of Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-11, et. seq. (the "Act"); and WHEREAS, The City of Richmond, Indiana, has been approached by Crossroads District of the Wesleyan Church, Inc. a non-profit corporation registered with the Indiana Secretary of State, in connection with the possible donation of a certain portion of real property which is more particularly described on Exhibit "A" which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein. WHEREAS, The real property is maintained by the Richmond Parks Department, and is no longer advantageous for the City of Richmond to own and maintain the above- described real property. WHEREAS, The real property may be transferred by the Richmond Board of Public Works and Safety in accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-11-1(b)(7); and WHEREAS, It is in the best interest of the City of Richmond that the Board of Public Works and Safety approve of the transfer of the above-described properties to Crossroads District of the Wesleyan Church, Inc. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works and Safety of Richmond, Indiana, that said Board hereby approves of the transfer of the real estate set out and described in the attached Exhibit"A"to Crossroads District of the Wesleyan Church, Inc. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ALSO FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works and Safety of Richmond, Indiana, that the Mayor, the City Attorney, and/or the Assistant City Attorney, be authorized to sign and/or take all other action necessary including, but not limited to, signing any and all documents required to effectuate the conveyance and transfer of the above-listed real estate.
