WORKSHOP
Friday, March 10, 2023
11:00 a.m.
1. WELCOME/OPENING REMARKS:
Mayor John Taylor called the Workshop to order at 11:14 a.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023.
2. ROLL CALL:
The following members of the City Commission were present: Vice Mayor Natasha L.
Ervin and Mayor John H. Taylor, Jr. Commissioner Veronica J Williams arrived at 11:33
a.m. Also in attendance were: Interim City Manager Darvin Williams, Assistant City
Manager Sha'mecca Lawson, Assistant City Manager George Ellis and City Clerk Joanna
Flores.
3. INVOCATION:
The invocation was delivered by Mayor Taylor.
4. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited in unison.
5. PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Mayor Taylor opened the Public Comments.
There being no members of the public to address the Commission, Mayor Taylor closed
Public Comments.
6. DISCUSSION ITEMS:
1. BENCHMARKING, MESSAGING & POSITIONING
Workshop Minutes - March 10, 2023

Roar Media Chief Operating Officer and Founder Jacques Hart made a presentation to the
City Commission on their proposal for Benchmarking, Messaging & Positioning.
Mayor Taylor called for a recess of the Workshop at 12:47 p.m.
Mayor Taylor reconvened the Workshop at 1:14 p.m.
The following members of the City Commission were present: Commissioner Veronica J
Williams, Vice Mayor Natasha L. Ervin and Mayor John H. Taylor, Jr. Commissioner
Joseph L. Kelley arrived at 1:23 p.m. Also in attendance were: Interim City Manager
Darvin Williams, Assistant City Manager Sha'mecca Lawson, Assistant City Manager
George Ellis and City Clerk Joanna Flores.
Roar Media representative Julia Angel made a presentation to the Commission on their
proposal for Messaging & Positioning.
8. ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the City Commission, it was moved by
Commissioner Kelley, seconded by Vice Mayor Ervin to adjourn the Workshop at 2:47
p.m.
