OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS .
AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 8, 1954.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, January 8, 1954, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following members being Present: Mr.
Hodgin and Mr. Chambers. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried the minutes
of the previous meeting were dispensed with.
CQ The City Attorney advised the Board that it has no jurisdiction on
the request to vacate Northwest "B" Street as petitioned by Mr. and
X Mrs. Loschiavo and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kohnle. The proper pro-
- r�;, ceedure is to file in the Circuit Court the petition.
The Board approved the Clerk of preparing a Declaratory Resolution
to appoint appraisers to appraise, one ( 1) 1948 Willys, one (1)
1942 Hudson, one (1) 1933 Ford Coupe and one (1) 1942 - 17 ton
truck.
The Board accepted the contract from the Ad-O-Lite Neon Service to
maintain the walk and don' t walk traffic signs for the year 1954.
The Clerk presented proofs of publications printed in the Richmond
Palladium, a newspaper of general circulation in Richmond, Indiana,
on the dates of December 7-14 , 1953, that a public hearing would
be held on Improvement Resolution No. 977-1953. The proofs were
ordered filed.
The Board heard all persons present who- desired to express themselves
on Improvement Resolution No. 977-1953. No remonstrances were filed
or received.
The benefits that will accure to the property abutting and adjacent
to the proposed improvement, and to said City were found to be
equal to or exceed the estimated costs as estimated by the City
Engineer. The board now confirms Improvement Resolution No. 977-
1953 as adopted and requested the Clerk to prepare the advertising
to receive bids to do the work.
The Board approved the Clerk of preparing the advertisement to
receive bids for a new car for the Sanitary Inspector' s use. -
The Board recinded the order to the Water Works on November 23, 1953,
to place a fire hydrant between "M" and "N" Streets on South 3rd
Street. The order should read the fire hydrant be installed at
South 3rd and "M" Streets.
Claims in the amount ofs32, 315. 23 were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, se-
conded and carried, the meeting adjourned. .
