The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said. City, Thursday, December 31, 1953, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. ( CST) , Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin and Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, .to-wit: . On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. A petition signed by property owners abutting on Northwest B Street running east from the east line of Northwest 15th Street to alley to rear or the east of the lots on the east side of Northwest 15th Street to alley, requesting such steps or proceedings as necessary to vacate said part of Northwest B Street in the City of Richmond, This was referred to the City Attorney for study and. recommendation. The Board approved the request of the Wayne County Heart Committee to place a trailer on the West side of South Ninth Street at East Main Street for one day only, February 26, 1954, The Mayor presented some gifts to Mr. Haworth who is retiring as City Attorney after serving for the oast six years. The Mayor gave praise to Mr. Haworth for the fine assistance given to the City in its many programs. Mr. Haworth responded and said, that it has been a pleasure to work with such a fine group of people and his service's would be available any time that he is needed for counsel. Mr. Coleman was selected as the chairman of the Board for the year 1954. The Board allowed the claims in the sum of 076. 44.
