The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, December 4, 1953, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) , Mr. -Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin and Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the pre- vious meeting were dispensed with. A petition signed- by owners of property abutting om South "L" Street, from South 13th to South 16th Streets requesting the Passage of a uJ resolution providing for curbs and gutters on both sides and side- J.N walks on north side of South "L" Street, from South 13th to South 16th Street was received. The City Engineer recommended that a resolution be adopted for the work to be done as requested. The Board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No.. 977-1953, to improve the north -side of South "L" Street, from South 13th Street to South 16th -Street by -construction of concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk and to improve the south side of South "L" 'Street, from. South 13th to South 16th Street by construction of concrete curb and gutter, all in accordance with the profile, details, drawing and specification on file in the office of the Board. of Public Works and Safety. 0 - The Clerk presented proofs of Publications printed in the Richmond Palladium, a newspaper of general circulation in Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of N vember 18-25, 1953, that sealed bids would be re- ceived on this date until 10: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) for labor and material to do the work provided for in Improvement Resolution No. 973-1953. The proofs were ordered received and filed. The following bids were received and opened and read aloud: Ralph Reed, Anderson, Indiana $13, 720. 00 W.L. Magaw, Richmond, Indiana 15, 231.50 • DeBolt Co.1, Richmond, Indiana 16, 235. 00 • The City Engineer' s estimate 15, 319.00 No action to be taken on the above bids until Thursday; _-December.'=24, 1953. • The Clerk presented proofs of• publication printed in the Richmond Palladium, a newspaper of general circulation in Richmond on the dates of November 18-25, 1953, that sealed bids would be received on this date until the hour of 10:00 o' clock A.M. (CST) , to do the work as provided for in Improvement Resolution No. 974-1953. The proofs were ordered filed. The only bid received was opened and read. aloud: DeBolt Concrete Co. $143.7.50 City Engineer' s estimate 14.17.50 3 Yt On motion duly made, seconded and carried. the Board awarded the bid to DeBolt Concrete Company. The Clerk presented proofs of publications printed in the Richmond Palladium, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Rich- mond, Indiana, on the dates of November 18-25, 1953, that sealed bids would be received on this date until the hour of 10:00 o' clock A.M. ( CST) , to do .the work as provided for in Improvement Resolution No. 975-1953. The proofs were ordered filed. The only bid received was opened and read aloud: DeBolt Concrete Co. 49, 326.00 City Engineer' s estimate 9, 426.00 On motion dly made, seconded and unanimously carried the Board award- ed the bid to the DeBolt Concrete Co. The Clerk presented proofs of publications printed in the Richmond Palladium, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of November 18-25, 1953, that sealed bids would be received on 'this date until 10: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) , to do the work provided for in Improvement Resolution No. 976-1953. The proofs were ordered filed. The only bid received was opened and read aloud: DeBolt Concrete Co. $4, 937.00 City Engineer' s estimate 6, 100.00 On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried the Board awarded the bid to the DeBolt Concrete Company. Claims in the amount of $21, 330.07 were allowed. There being no further business presented on motion duly made, se- conded and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned. Chairman • Attest: City lerk
