The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, November 27, 1953, at the hour of 9: 00 o ' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr. Coleman Presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hod.gin and. Mr. Haworth, The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the pre- vious meeting were dispensed with. The following letter was presented and read: Board of Public Works and Safety Richmond, Indiana Attention: Ather J. Reeg, Clerk Dear Sir: Relative to Public Parking Lot on No. 169 in C.W. Sta.rr' s 5th Addition, same being on east side of North 10th Street, between Main and North "A" Streets and now owned by Sherman Fleming, referred to the City Plan Commission on November 17, 1953 for recommendation. The Plan Commission considered this matter at their regular meeting on November 24, 1953, and directed me to advise their approval of said site as a Public Parking Lot. Your very truly, • /s/ B.H. Deuker Sec. City Plan Comm. The Board advised the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance for the Council' s consideration for the appropriations to purchase the site above mentioned. The Board received the following estimate of the costs of the No. 6 Fire Station as presented by Stanley B. Gehr. Cost of Building ' 60, 000. 00 Codt of Grading, drives, sewers, furniture, legal engineering, etc. 10,000. 00 Mrs. Meyers, American Red Cross and Mr. Josephson, Community Fund, appeared before the board and requested permission from this board to place permanent type brackets on the light Poles in the business area for• their campaigns. The board requested that this be given to the Light Plant Committee for their study due to the fact that the poles are Light Plant property. Claims in the amount of fi4, 398, 26 were allowed.
