HomeMy Public PortalAbout11-20-1953 3 OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA. FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 1953. The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, November 20, 1953, at the hour of 9:00 o ' clock A.M. .(CST) , Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin and Mr. Haworth. The following business was had., to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. On recommendation of the Fire Chief the board approved the extension of a water main between South "M" and "N" Streets on South 3rd Street and fir hydrants at the intersection of South "M" and "N" Streets to serve as fire protection in said area. On recommendation of Captain Juerling the board approved the removal of the first parking meter west of 8th Street on the south side of Main Street. Mr. Hemmer, Principal, Mrs. Crabb and Mr. Dye, Teachers at Test Jr. High School and members of. the Student Council of said school appeared before the board and discussed the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of 22nd and Main Streets. Petition signed by the parents of the school children and also the teachers were pre- sented and left on file. They were advised that a representative from the State Highway would be in to go over this request. Claims in the amount of 4 30, 662, 7L were allowed.
