FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 1953 II The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, November 13,1953, at the hour of 9:00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin and Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. The Board approved the preliminary. plans for the new No. 6 Fire :� House as submitted by the City Engineer. O.% w � Mr.,�,., r. Hodgin presented a request for a street light to be- located be- tween Southwest 3rd and 4th Streets on Southwest "C" Street. This was referred to the light plant committee. A petition signed by residents in the area of South 7th and 8th Streets , between South "C" and "D" Streets requesting the installa- tion of a much need Street Light at the alley entrance on North "C" Street between 7th and 8th Streets was received and referred to the light plant committee. The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond II Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation on the dates of October 26th and November 2, 1953, that sealed bids would be re- ceived for the labor and material needed to do the work as provided for in Improvement Resolution No. 971-1953. The proofs were re- ceived and ordered filed. The following bids were received, opened and read aloud. DeBolt Concrete Company 414,844.50 Mike Delucio and Son 16,078.50 On recommendation of the City Engineer the Board unanimously approved the lowest bid and that being the DeBolt Concrete Company. The Clerk presented proofs of publications printed in the Richmond Palladium a local newspaper. of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of October 26th and November 2, 1953, that sealed bids would be received for labor and material needed to do the work provided for in Improvement Resolution Number 972-1953. The proofs were received and ordered filed. The following bids were received, opened and read aloud: . DeBolt Concrete Company $7,300.00 Mike Delucio and Son 7 ,831.00 On recommendation of the City 'ngineer the Board unanimously approved the lowest bid and that being the DeBolt Concrete Company. 3 The three appraisors, Mr. Paul H. Riley, Mr. Guy M. Campbell and Mr. Norman Pilgrim approved by this board on recommendations of the Mayor to appraise lot #169, C.W. Starr Fifth Addition fora public parking lot returned the following: Value exclusive of the building situated on the rear of the lot in the sum of 18,000.00. The City Attorney advised that approval would have to be obtained from the City Plan Commission and that Council would have to approve the appropriation before an option could be on said lot. The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond Palladium, a local newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of October 12-19, 1953, that a public hearing would be held on Improvement Resolution No. 973-1953, on this date at 10:00 o' clock A.M. The proofs were ordered received and filed. All persons present who were interested were heard and no remonstrances were received or filed. The board now unanimously confirms Improvement Resolution No. 973-1953 as orginially adopted. The Clerk to prepare the advertisement to receive bids to do the work. The Clerk presented proofs of publications printed in the Richmond Palladium, a newspaper of general circulation in the city of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of October 19-26, 1953, that a public hearing would be held on this date on Improvement Resolution No. 975-1953. The proofs were ordered received and filed. After hearing all per- sons present that were interested in Improvement Resolution No. 975- 1953 and considering the one remonstrance filed the board now modifies Improvement Resolution No. 975-1953 to eliminate the sidewalk on north side of South "J't Street, from South 13th Street to South 16th Street. The Clerk presented proofs of publications printed in the Richmond Palladium, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of October 19-26, 1953, that a public hearing would be held on this date on. Improvement Resolution No. 971953. The proofs of publication were received and ordered filed. All per- sons present were heard and. no remonstrances uere fi ed or received. The Board now confirms Improvement Resolution No. 97 -1953 as adopted. The Clerk presented proofs of publications printed in the Richmond Palladium, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana, that a public hearing would be held on Improvement Resolution No. 97i-1953 on this date . The proofs were received and ordered filed. All persons who were present were heard and no remonstrances were filed or presented. The board now confirms Improvement Resolution No, 90,-1953 as adopted. The Clerk presented proofs of publications printed in the Richmond Palladium, a newspaper of general circulation in the city of Richmond, Indiana, on the dates of October 19-26, 1953 that a public hearing would be held on the Preliminary Assessment Roll No. 966-1953 on this date. The proofs were . ordered received and filed. All persons who were present were heard and no remonstrances were filed or received. The Board now confirms Assessment Roll No. 966-1953.
