FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23, 1953, The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in. the City Hall in said City, Friday, October 23, 1953, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) Mr. Haworth presiding with the following member being present: Mr. Hodgin. Mr. Coleman being absent. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the following was made , a record of in this meeting: As requested by the Light Plant Committee, the Board of Public Works and .Safety have purchased for the City of Richmond, Indiana the following described real estate: Forty C40) feet off the entire north end of the following described real estate situate in the City of Richmond, Wayne County, State of Indiana, to-wit: Part of the northwest quarter of Section thirty-two (32) , Township fourteen (14) , Range one ( 1) west, and bounded as follows: Beginning at an iron pin in the County Road (West 5 ' Street, Richmond, Indiana) on the west line of said quarter., one thousand seven hundred eighty- seven ( 1, 787) feet south of the northwest corner of said Section; running thence north on the Section line ninety-eight and one-half ( 98*) feet to the southwest corner of a lot owned by Martha C. Bennett in July, 1893; thence east . along the south line of said. Bennett lot one hundred seventy (170) feet to alley fifteen (15) feet in. width; thence south., parallel with the Section line along the west side of said alley ninety-nine (99) feet to the northeast corner of a lot owned by JennyIreton in July, 1893; thence west one hundred seventy ( 170) feet to the place of beginning, containing three hundred eight-five thousandths ( 0.0385) acres, more or less. The above described tract being a part of Out-Lot ten ( 10) in Poe and Lynde' s Addition of Out-Lots to the City of Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana, SUBJECT to the 1953 taxes, due and payable in 1954, and all subsequent taxes. from Robert C. and Elsie C. Thompson at. and for the sum of i31, 200. 00 which sum has been paid out of the Light Plant Funds, said property being for use of the Light Plant. t , The Clerk presented :Proofs of publication printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation in said City on the dates of September 28th and October 5, 1953, that a public . hearing would be held on this date at 9: 00 o' clock A.M. ( CST) for Improvement Resolution No, 971-1953. The proofs were received and ordered filed, The Board heard all present who desired to be heard on Improvement Resolution No. 971-1953. No remonstrance was filed, The Board now confirms Improvement Resolution No, 971-1953 as adopted and ordered the Clerk to prepare the notice to receive bids to do. the work as provided in said resolution, Friday, November 13, 1953. • The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation in said. City on the dates of September 28th and October 5, 1953, that a public hear- ing would be held on this date at 9:00 o' clock A,M. . (CST) for Improve- ment Resolution No. 972-1953, The proofs were received and ordered filed. The Board heard all present who desired to be heard on Improvement Resolution Noo 972-1953. No remonstrance was filed. The Board now confirms Improvement Resolution No. 972-1953 as adopted and ordered the Clerk to prepare the notice to receive. bids to do the work as provided in said resolution, Friday, November 13, 1953. The petition signed by. residents residing in the Traver' s Addition requesting the City of. Richmond to pave from the Park Terrace 11 property line to Peacock Road at the intersection of. Grace Drive and Peacock Road was referred to the City Engineer.. The Board granted permission to the Animal Welfare League to stage a parade Sunday November 1, 1953, at 1: 00 P. M. The next meeting of the Board to be held on November 6, 1953, to the Municipal League Meeting being held in Indianapolis, Indiana. The claims in the amount of $23, 339. 80 were allowed.
