II FRIDAY, AUGUST 7, 1953 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday,' August 7, 1953, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M.' (CDST) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin and Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made seconded and unanimously carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. - The study of what -type of traffic light would be best suited for the VD OD intersection of Northwest. 18th Street and Peacock Road was referred c.:,.,4 City Engineer and Captain Juerling to study and make recommendations. On recommendation of the Fire Chief, the board unanimously approved the extension of a six (6) inch water main from the intersection of South 32nd and Berwyn Lane, south to south 32nd Street and South• "B" Streets and a fire hydrant at the intersection of South 32nd and "B" Streets to serve as fire protection in the Ravinia Park 2nd Addition. The board unanimously adopted Preliminary Assessment Roll No. 956-1952, for the alley between South 14th Street and South 15th Street, from South "D" Street to South "E" Street. IIThe board unanimously adopted Preliminary Assessment Roll No. 960-1952, for east side of Harris. Street, from N.W. "M" to N.W. "N" Streets. The board unanimously adopted Preliminary Assessment Roll No. 962-1952, for curb,, gutter and sidewalks on both sides of Reller Street, from Harris Street to alley east of the Railroad. The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond- Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Richmond, Indiana on the dates of July 20-27, 1953, that a public hearing would be held on this date for the Preliminary Assessment Roll No. 947-1951. The proofs were received and ordered filed. The board heard all present who desired to be heard on Assessment Roll No. 947-1951 and to receive and consider all remonstrance. The board having heard all persons present who desired to express themselves and . no remonstrances were filed or received. The board now confirms Assessment Roll No. 947-1951 as adopted. Councilman Salzarulo appeared before the board and discussed the un- healthy situation that exists at the North 24th Street dump. This is a matter that should be taken up with the Sanitary Board. The board allowed the claims in the amount of $26, 001. 40. There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned. X.6 Chairman Attest: City Cler
