The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall, Friday, July 7, 1953, at the hour. of 9:00 o' clock A.M. (CDST) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following member being present: Mr. Hodgin. Mr. Haworth being absent. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. The Board unanimously concurred with the State Highway' s Resolution as follows: Be it resolved that parking on U. S. #4.0 in Richmond '" be restricted as follows. No Parking at any time on either side of U. S. #140 between Southwest 5th Street and the west corporate limits of Richmond. The Board unanimously adopted the preliminary Assessment Roll No. 947-1951 for sanitary sewer South "I" and 5th Streets. The Clerk was ordered to prepare the advertisement. for a public hearing on said . assessment .roll. The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond Palladium, a newspaper of general circulation in said City, on the 23rd and 30th days of June, 1953 that sealed bids would be received to furnish labor and material for the construction of concrete curbs, gutters and c a tifiako as provided in Improvement Resolution No. 964- 1953. The proofs were ordered received and filed. The following bid was received, opened and read aloud: S.S. Palma Construction Co. 1671.52 City Engineer' s estimate was 1718. 70 On recommendation of the City Engineer, the board awarded the contract to the S. S. Pamla Company. The claims in the sum of $54, 84.5.21 were allowed. There being no further business presented on motion duly made, se- conded and carried, the meeting adjourned.
