OFFICE OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA. •
FRIDAY, JULY 3, 1953.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in 'regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, July 3, 1953, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A,M. (CDST) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following member being present: Mr. Hod.gin.
Mr. Haworth -being absent. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried; the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
On recommendation of the City Engineer the board unanimously confirmed
Improvement. Resolution No. 965-1953 as adopted the 5th day of June,
1953. The Clerk was instructed to prepare the proper advertising to
receive bids for labor and material to do the work.
'On recommendation of the Chief of Police the board unanimously
approved the appointment of Jesee E. Nicholson,Jr. as probationary
patrolman as of July 4, 1953.
The board unanimously adopted Improvement Resolution No. 966-1953, to
construct concrete curbs and sidewalks on both sides of S.W. 16th Street
from S.W. -NE" Street to the' south corporation line.
The City Engineer presented a plan to 'take a strip of land 20 feet
wide off the park at South 8th and °LtI Street to park 31 cars. This
was referred to the Park Department for their approval.
Claims in the amount of $12, 071. 85 were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, se-
conded and carried, the meeting adjourired.
