The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, II met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, June 19, 1953, at the hour of 9: 00 o i clock A.M. ( CDST) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following member being present: Mr. Hod- gin. Mr. Haworth being absent. The following business was had, to- wit: . On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. A request for the extension of a water main from South 13th and "P" Street, east to South 14th and "P" Street was referred to the Fire • Chief to investigate and. recommend. Mr. William McGrew appeared before the Board and reported that John Rohloff has been doing some plumbing work without having a "Plumbers" license. The Board instructed the Clerk to notify Mr. Beck, Building inspector to investigate and report to the Board. Mr. Ralph Lunsford, 1009 Hibberd Drive appeared before the Board and - lodged a complaint of Loren Steele, 1005 Hibberd Drive of doing garage work at said address. The Clerk was instructed to notify Mr. Beck, Building Inspector, to make an investigation and report to the Board. II On recommendation of the Chief of Police, the Board approved that Richard Yoder be made a regular patrolman as of June 16, 1953. Mr. Yoder having served the one year probationary period. The Clerk presented proofs of publication printed in the Richmond Palladium-Item, a newspaper of general circulation in said Cityon the dates of May 25th and June 1, 1953. that a public hearing would be held on this date at 9: 00 o° clock A.M. on Improvement Resolution No. 964- 1953. The proofs were ordered received and filed. All persons present who were interested or property that would be effected were heard. The benefits that will accure to the property abutting and adjacent to the proposed improvement and to said city will be equal to or exceed the estimated cost of the proposed improvement as estimated by the City Engineer. The Board now confirms Improvement Resolution No. 964-1953 as adopted, and instructed the Clerk to pre- pare the advertisement for bids to be received for labor and material to do the work. The Board allowed the claims in the .amount of47, 719. 76. There being no further business presented on motion duly made, second- ed end carried, the meeting adjourned. . Q.,_ .
