FRIDAY, MAY 22, 1953.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session in the City Hall in said City on Friday, May 22,
1953, at the hour of 9:00 o' clock .M. (CDST) . Mr. Coleman presiding
with the following members being p esent: Mr. Hodgin. Mr. Haworth be-
ing absent. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
On recommendation of the Fire Chief the Board unanimously approved that
a six (6) inch water main be extended north from West Main Street and
Eleventh Street along Northwest Eleventh Street to the intersection of
Northwest Eleventh and "B" Streets to serve as fire protection.
On recommendation of the FlIre Chief the Board unanimously approved the
installation of a six (6 "'inch water main to be extended from South 19th
and "E" Streets, south on South 19th Street to South "G" Street and in-
stallation of a fire hydrant, thence east on South "G" Street to the
intersection of South 20th -and "G" Streets to serve as fire• protection.
On recommendation of the Fire Chief the Board unanimously approved the
installation of an eight (8) inch water main to be extended from South
8th Street and "Q" Street, south along South 8th Street to the north
property line of the Whitewater Valley Utility Station and the in-
stallation of a fire hydrant at the end to serve as fire protection.

On recommendation of the City Engineer the Board adoped Improvement
Resolution No. 964-1953 and instructed the Clerk to prepare the proper
advertising for a public hearing to be held on June 19, 1953.
Mr. Ridgeway reported a tree in front of the residence at 1219 Sheridan
Street to be creating a hazard and the Board ordered the same to be
removed at the property owners expense.
Claims in the amount of $21,927. 65 were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded
and carried, the meeting adjourned.
