AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA.
FRIDAY, MAY 1, 1953.
The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, May 1, 1953, at the hour of 9:00 o' clock A.M. (CDST) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin,
and Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
On motion made by Mr. Hodgin seconded by Mr. Haworth and on voice vote
was unanimously carried that all bids that were received for a safe for
the City Health Officer be rejected. •
Mr. Titus of West Main Street request for a fire hydrant at the inter-
section of Northwest "IAA! and llth Street was referred to the Fire Chief
for investigation.
Mr. Walter Raizen and Mr. Howard Shirley of the Optimust Club appeared
before the Board reques-ting permission to hold the annual Opti-Derby
on North E Street July 19, 1953. Permission was granted.
TheiBoard approved the installation of one hour parking signs around
the School Administration Building on North 10th. Street. The signs
to read "for school business only" .The Clerk was directed to write M17. Pohlkotte, State Highway Commission
relative to the placement of "No Parking" signs on both sides of
National Road from Fifth Street to the City Limits.
The Board allowed the claims in the sum of g6,871. 64.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded
and carried, the meeting adjourned.
