FRIDAY, APRIL 24, .1953.
IIThe Board of Publid Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday., April 24, 1953, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin
and Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.

Due to error in application of Dominic Anthony Mitrone
to the Fire Department as of April 10, 1953, appointment
has been disapproved because said applicant was not a
resident of the City of Richmond.

Mr. Haowrth moved that the action the Board took on April 10, 1953, be
rescinded, seconded by Mr. Hodgin and on voice vote was unanimously
II carried.
The Board disapproved the request of the Nazarene Church to pave a
parcel of land on the Northwest Corner of North 5th and "A" Streets for .
a parking lot. The _Board decided that a parking lot would create a danger
for vehicle traffic.
A petition for a street light installation at the intersection of
South 16th and "L" Street was received and ordered referred to the
Light Plant committee. .
The Board approved to prohibit the parking of cars on both sides of
National Road West from West Fifth Street to the West Corporation Line.
This order to be held until the Mayor gives the Clerk the correct
State Highway Offical to be contacted about this action.

The Board approved the bids for Street Materials that were submitted
by Columbia-Southern Chemical Corporation, DeBolt Concrete Company and
W.L. Magaw Company.
Claims in the amount of 21, 214.66 were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded
and carried, the meeting adjourned.
