OFFICE OFTHE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA.
FRIDAY, APRIL 10, 1953.
The .Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City,
Friday, April 10, 1953, at the hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr.
Coleman presiding with the following members being present: Mr. Hodgin
and Mr. Haworth. The following business was had, to-wit:
On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous
meeting were dispensed with.
The Board granted permission to the 40/8 Club to park their train on
the northwest corner- of Seventh and Main Streets to sell advanced
;�. tickets for the circus they are sponsoring. No permission was granted
for loud speaker.
On written recommendation of Fire Chief Williams the Board approved the
appointment of Dominic Anthony Mitrone as probationary fireman as of
April 16, 1953.
The Board granted Mr. Fox, 711 South 9th Street to park his truck in
front of said address April 24, 1953 to display electronic devices.
On motion made by Haworth, seconded by Hodgin and unanimously carried
on voice vote, the board concurred the Agreement made and executed be-
tween the Chesapeake. and Ohio Railway Company as was signed by this
board the 6th day of April, 1953.
The board gave permission to the Kirk Little Post No. 1108 to stage a
parade on Sunday April 26, 1953.
On recommendation of Captain Juerling the board approved "No Parking"
on the north side of Northwest "K" Street from Ridge to Harris Streets.
On recommendation of Capt. Juerling the board approved marking the
curb yellow 150 feet west of North 10th Street on North "C" Street which .
is in front of the Day Nursery.
The Board directed the Clerk to contact Paul Dunlap of the I.R. C. & D.
asking about whom should be contacted to publish an article in the
trucking bulletin. This article asking that trucks cease their practice
of parking on the city streets for lengthy periods of time.
Claims in the amount of 43, 887.39, were allowed.
There being no further business presented on motion duly made, seconded
and carried, the meeting adjourned.
