AND SAFETY, RICHMOND, INDIANA. • FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 1953. • The Board of Public Works and Safety of the •City of Richmond, Indiana, met in regular session in its office in the City Hall in said City, Friday, April 3, 1953, at the. hour of 9: 00 o' clock A.M. (CST) . Mr. Coleman presiding with the following member being present: Mr. Hodgin. • . Mr. Haworth being absent. The following business was had, to-wit: On motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with. Mr. Ronald Davis resident near the Perfect Circle lodged a complaint �~~ of smoke from the Perfect Circle and said complaint was referred to the City Engineer to investigate. • The Board unanimously accepted the resignation of Fred Heathcoe from the Fire Department as of April 1, 1953. Mr. Heathcoe having served 41 years as a member of the Fire Department. On recommendation of the Mayor the Board urged the citizens of the City to aid in a clean-up program of streets, alleys and 'highways for Easter Sunday. • The Board granted permission to the local Fraternal Order of Eagles to stage a parade on Saturday, May 2, 1953 on Main Street and said organization was requested to work with Captain Juerling very closely to expedite a parade through the City from East 15th Street to East 7th Street. The Board ordered the Clerk to write Mr. Fred Siekel, owner of property at 820 North 18th Street, and recommend the debris on said property to be cleaned up as it is a fire hazard. Captain Juerling reported that •the request for parking of cars on one side of the street on N.W. "K1 Street between Ridge and Harris was still under advisement. On recommendation of Captain Juerling the Board approved that South . • "C" Street .be made a one-way Street east from South 5th Street to - South 16th Street and one side parking on the south side of South "C" Street from South 5th Street to South 7th Streets. No parking on both sides of South "CH Street from South. 7th Street to South 8th Street. Parking to be allowed on both sides of South "C" Street from South 8th Street to South 10th Streets. Parking on the south side of South "C" Street from South 10th Street to South 13th Streets and park- ing on both-sides from South 13th Street to South 16th Streets. All of the east sides of each intersection the curbs to be painted yellow north and south for a distance of 50 feet to' prohibit parking for better visibility. This to be effective from and after the erection of the proper signs by the Street Department. Claims in the amount of $15, 537.43 wery allowed. • There being no further business presented on motion duly made, se- conded and carried, the meeting adjourned. • Chairman • • Attest: City C rk
